Samsung’s latest flagship devices, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have much to offer to their users. Though it comes packed with powerful hardware and provides a lot of features, some users might be disappointed with its speakers. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus comes with mono speakers and if you are looking to have stereo experience on Galaxy S8 Plus/S8 then follow this tutorial. In this tutorial, we are going to enable Dual Speaker on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus with the help of Mod.

An XDA developer, otonieru, has created this MOD which brings pseudo stereo speakers to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. The Mod enables the earpiece to act as the second speaker and provide the stereo experience. Apart from enabling the earpiece as speaker, it also boosts the sound output of both the speakers.

To install the Dual Speaker Mod on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, you must follow the below steps to make sure everything is in place and nothing will go wrong.

Preparations:

1. Make sure you have TWRP Recovery Installed.
2. Root Galaxy S8 Plus or Galaxy S8
3. Maintain at least 50% Charge.

How to Enable Dual Speaker on Galaxy S8 Plus and Galaxy S8:

Step 1: Download one of the Dual Speaker Mod from the above downloads section and transfer it to your device’s internal or external storage.

Step 2: Power off your device.

Step 3: Boot into TWRP Recovery by pressing and holding Volume Up, Bixby and Power buttons together.

Step 4: From TWRP, tap on Install and browse for the Dual Speaker Mod zip file and select it.

Step 5: Swipe to confirm flash and once installed reboot your device.

That’s it, now play a video or music file on your device to test out the stereo experience on Galaxy S8/S8 Plus.

How to Revert Back to Original Settings:

In case you want to revert back the changes made by the mode, follow the steps listed below.

Step 1: Download the original_mixer_paths.xml file from the above downloads section.

Step 2: Rename the original_mixer_paths.xml to mixer_paths.xml

Step 3: Move the file to /system/etc/ and overwrite it.

Step 4: Make sure the permission for the file is set to 744 or -rwxr--r--. See the image below. We recommend using Solid Explorer as it sets the permissions automatically. But still, check the permissions after overwriting the file.

Step 5: Reboot your device.

That’s it now you have reverted back the changes made by Dual Speaker Mod on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
