Lenovo came out with Lenovo K3 Note in March this year and the device is priced at Rs. 9,999 which is approximately $157. Coming to specifications the device comes with 5.5 Inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It packs 1.7 GHz Octa-Core Cortex-A53 processor combined with Mali-T760MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and sports 13MP rear camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash. It also packs a 5MP front facing camera for selfies.
In this tutorial we are going to show you how to install CWM Custom Recovery and Root Lenovo K3 Note Android Smartphone. Before you proceed make a note that rooting and installing Custom Recovery on Lenovo K3 Note voids its warranty. So take the decision wisely and proceed at your own risk. With that being said, let’s proceed to install CWM Recovery and Root Lenovo K3 Note.
Preparations:
- Make a backup of all of your important data and stuff.
Backup and Restore SMS
Backup and Restore Contacts
Backup and Restore Call Logs
Backup files on internal storage to PC
- Ensure that USB Debugging is enabled on Lenovo K3 Note.
- Download the required Lenovo USB Drivers on PC and install them.
- Also setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC.
- Make sure you are left with at least 75% charge on Lenovo K3 Note.

How to install CWM / TWRP Recovery and Root Lenovo K3 Note:
Step 1: Download the CWM / TWRP Recovery and SuperSU.zip from the above links.
Step 2: Copy the SuperSU.zip to the root of Lenovo K3 Note’s internal storage. Make sure not to copy it inside any folder, just copy at the root of device’s internal storage.
Step 3: Extract the CWM /TWRP Recovery Package on PC and obtain .img file and rename it to recovery.img.
Step 4: Copy the recovery.img to Fastboot folder and press and hold shift key and right click inside the Fastboot folder at the empty space and choose open command window here.
Step 5: Connect Lenovo K3 Note to PC using OEM USB cable.
Step 6: Now in CMD type the following commands and hit enter after each command:
adb reboot bootloader
This command boots Lenovo K3 Note into Fastboot / Bootloader Mode.
fastboot devices
This commands shows the list of devices connected to PC in Bootloader Mode. It is used to ensure that Lenovo K3 Note is successfully connected to PC.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This command will flash the recovery.img file to Lenovo K3 Note.
fastboot reboot
This command will reboot your device into normal mode.
Once the device boots up successfully. Boot it into Recovery Mode using the below command:
fastboot reboot recovery
Step 7: Now from the Recovery Mode flash the SuperSU.zip file which you copied earlier. Follow the guide here.
Step 8: Once done reboot and check for Root permissions using Root Checker App.
