Herein checkout how to Install CWM / TWRP Recovery and Root YU Yuphoria YU5010 Android Smartphone - Guide
Earlier we have shared a tutorial on how to unlock Bootloader on YU Yuphoria Android smartphone. So, after unlocking the Bootloader, one would first think of is rooting their device and installing Custom Recovery like CWM and TWRP Recovery etc. So if you have unlocked the Bootloader on your YU Yuphoria, then you can follow this tutorial and install CWM / TWRP Recovery and Root YU Yuphoria YU5010.
Unlocking Bootloader, rooting and install Custom Recovery on YU Yuphoria doesn’t void its warranty. But it should be carried out carefully, otherwise it may brick your device and leave it useless.
Before you proceed make sure to prepare Yuphoria for the installation and rooting process by following the steps listed below.
Getting Prepared:
- Make a complete backup of all of your data on PC.
Backup and Restore SMS
Backup and Restore Call Logs
Backup and Restore Contacts
Backup files on internal storage to PC
- Enable USB Debugging on Yuphoria.
- Make sure Yuphoria is charged to at least 75%.
- Install the required USB Drivers on PC.
- Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC.

SuperSU Package (Copy it to the root of your SD card)
How to Install CWM / TWRP Recovery on YU Yuphoria YU5010:
Step 1: Download your desired Custom Recovery from the download section.
Step 2: Make sure it is in .img format, if not extract it using winrar or winzip and obtain .img file.
Step 3: Rename the file to recovery.img, and copy it to Fastboot folder.
Step 4: Open the command prompt inside the Fastboot folder, to do so, open the Fastboot folder and press and hold shift key and right click inside the folder at the empty space and choose open command window here.
Step 5: Now type the following commands and hit enter after each command.
If you want to boot from the recovery only once i.e., without flashing it to your device, use the following code:
fastboot -i 0x2A96 boot recovery.img
If you want to permanently flash the custom recovery on Yuphoria type the following command:
fastboot -i 0x2A96 flash recovery recovery.img
That’s all now you have successfully installed CWM / TWRP Recovery on YU Yuphoria YU5010. Now it’s time to root the device.
How to Root YU Yuphoria YU5010:
Step 1: Download and copy the SuperSU package from the download section and copy it to your device’s SD card.
Step 2: Boot Yuphoria into Recovery Mode. How? Watch here.
Step 3: From the Recovery Mode flash the SuperSU package. How? Follow the steps here.
Step 4: Reboot and check for Root access using Root Checker App.

Yes you can. In the above tutorial use the command:
fastboot -i 0x2A96 boot recovery.imginstead offastboot -i 0x2A96 flash recovery recovery.img. This will just temporarily boot from the recovery.img and after reboot you will be on stock recovery. Before booting make sure to copy the SuperSU zip package to your device.I want to root my YU yunique by Clockwork mod

can u please send me the twrp folder which contains the backup.img file. i urgently need this file because i have hard bricked my yu yuphoria yu5010. in order to recover it i will need to flash the twrp backup.img file into sd card so i can expose the fastboot loader on my device. can u please upload the twrp backup file on google drive? please reply asap

please help. My mobile is stuck at YU logo.
I rooted my phone and installed custom ROM with the help of cymogenmod recovery,Then I tryed to change recovery mode but my root access was closed and recovery mode deleted,So I can’t flash any ROM or recovery,Since I can’t install gapps
