YU Yutopia is the latest CyanogenMod Smartphone from YU Televentures and the device packs high-end specs like Quad HD display, 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 810 Processor, 128GB microSD card slot etc. Earlier we have shared a tutorial on how to unlock bootloader on YU Yutopia and today we are going to share a tutorial on how to install TWRP Recovery and Root YU Yutopia YU5050.

Rooting YU Yutopia doesn’t voids it’s warranty and so can be carried out without any fear, but still you need to be careful otherwise you will end up bricking your device. So we recommend you to follow all the preparation steps before proceeding with installing TWRP Recovery and Rooting YU Yutopia YU5050.

Preparations:

1. Charge YU Yutopia to at least 75%.
2. Enable USB Debugging from Developer Options and disable “update Cyanogen Recovery option”.
3. Backup all the important and stuff to safe place.

4. Download and install Required Yutopia USB Drivers on PC.
5. Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC.
6. Unlock Bootloader on YU Yutopia YU5050.

How to install TWRP Recovery on YU Yutopia:

Step 1: Download the required files from the above downloads section to PC.

Step 2: Copy the TWRP recovery image to Fastboot folder and press and hold the shift key and right click inside the folder at the blank space and choose open command window here.

Step 3: Power off YU Yutopia and boot into Fastboot Mode.

• Connect one end of the USB to PC
• Press and hold the Volume Up key of Yutopia and connect it to PC.

Step 4: Now in CMD type the below commands to install TWRP Recovery on YU Yutopia.

fastboot –i 0x2A96 devices

This command shows the list of devices connected to PC in Fastboot Mode.

fastboot –i 0x2A96 flash recovery recovery.img

This command flashes the recovery.img file to Yutopia.

fastboot –i 0x2A96 reboot

This commands reboots YU Yutopia to normal mode.

How to Root YU Yutopia YU5050:

Step 1: Download and Copy the SuperSU zip package to device’s storage.

Step 2: Boot YU Yutopia into Recovery Mode.

• Power off YU Yutopia.
• Press and hold Volume Down, Volume Up and Power buttons together until you are in Recovery Mode.
